What this service is

Your Healthcare Bestie offers practical guidance and supportive conversations for people caring for aging parents and older adults. Consultations are by phone or Zoom. FaceTime may also be used when convenient for the customer. Your Healthcare Bestie helps you talk through questions, understand options, organize next steps, and feel heard.

Consultations are not medical care, therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment, and do not replace advice from your loved one’s clinicians, attorney, or financial professional. Your Healthcare Bestie cannot provide emergency response. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Requests, scheduling, and payment

Send a request through the consultation form. A request is not a confirmed appointment. We will arrange a time by email; the appointment is confirmed after we agree on a time and payment is received. Do not send payment card numbers through the contact form or ordinary email. Payment instructions will be provided separately.

Current consultation options shown on the site are: initial consultation, 60 minutes, $175; follow-up, 60 minutes, $150; five follow-ups, $675; ten follow-ups, $1,200. The initial consultation is paid separately from follow-up packages. The price and what is included will be confirmed before you pay. Package sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement. The package rules below apply.

Cancellation and rescheduling

For a single session, provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule for a full refund or transfer to another time. With less than 24 hours’ notice, or for a missed appointment, the full fee is retained. Your Healthcare Bestie may make exceptions for emergencies.

Follow-up package terms

Consultation packages expire 12 months from the purchase date, except where prohibited by applicable law.

You may cancel a package and request a refund for unused sessions at the package rate: $135 per unused session for the five-session package and $120 per unused session for the ten-session package. Sessions already used are not repriced at the single-session rate.

Provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a package session without using that session. With less than 24 hours’ notice, or for a missed appointment, one package session is used. Your Healthcare Bestie may make exceptions for emergencies.

Packages remain with the original client or family situation and cannot be transferred to an unrelated person. Another family member may participate with the client’s permission.

Confidentiality

Your Healthcare Bestie treats what you share in a consultation as private and follows social work ethical guidelines around privacy and confidentiality. Limited exceptions may apply, including serious danger to you or someone else, a legal duty to report abuse or neglect, or another legal requirement. See the Privacy Policy for more detail. Please do not use the website form or ordinary email to share medical records or detailed sensitive information.
